Shepherd Book's letters were very interesting and his links incredibly easy to use and follow. Thank you.

not sure if anybody else has noticed this but when i search for jehovah's witness i would expect jw.org to be the 1st result.
until now.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/50714155@n07/11824103644/.
seems they are down to 3rd position behind wikipedia and beliefnet..... this is great news if true - seems that their shiny new jw.org might not be quite seo'd enough....
How do we do that, crazy guy?
no longer a ms ........................... can't give details atm, for it might be a dead-giveaway and it ain't quite over yet.
but, it really taught me one thing: if you're trying to fade or stay in, trust no one.
and i mean no one.. eden.
Hope this doesn't get too rough for you. Originally, I relayed thoughts and many questions to two JW's. One is out (faded) and the other said something to my parents and has caused strained relations, to say the least. Can you ignore phone, texts, visits at your door? I ignored texts from elders and haven't been bothered in 6 months.

in his book, "the moral landscape" sam harris argues that you can in fact get "an ought from an is".. the split between facts and values is an illusion.. he challenges the assumption that science has nothing to say about objective morality, which he defines as our thinking about the well-being of conscious creatures.. personally i found his book to be compelling; all the arguments against it that i have read so far are based on misunderstandings of his thesis.
i hve quoted harris a couple of times when he said to his critics that he didn't want to be wrong any longer than necessary.
in that spirit he has offered $10,000 to anybody who can refute the central argument of his book in 1000 words or less.
I am quickly developing a fondness for Mr. Harris. Just ordered several of his books and liked him on Facebook and signed up for his email.
hopefully not a repost but i found this article and her take very insightful...and of course it has strainds of wt like control!.

elizabeth smart: abstinence education teaches rape victims they're worthless, dirty, and filthyby tara culp-ressler on may 6, 2013 at 12:00 pm.
So glad I found this. Researching the WT articles on rape and seeing how much blame was laid on the victim, was huge for me, in recognizing how utterly wrong this relgion is I their treatment of women. I'll be relating this article tomorrow on Facebook, as a I just shared an article addressing how women dress and if it "invites rape" and drew a couple JW comments.
as i hurtled through space, one thought kept crossing my mind - every part of this rocket was supplied by the lowest bidder.. john glenn.
when the white missionaries came to africa they had the bible and we had the land.
they said 'let us pray.
Love the Auden quote. Putting it on Facebook. The JW's prob won't get it, but can't hurt.
if you were a lady and you were 55 and had $5,000 or less to spend on a used car, what would buy?
top concerns: good mpg; reliable; in not having major issues like ball joints breaking, timing belts breaking, etc.
not too expensive to maintain.
I am extremely happy with my 2005 Prius.
a friend of mine who is planing his fade, has just been made talk coordinator.
so he calls me and ask 'do i want to give a talk at his hall?
' he knows my situation and lurks on this board himself.
What a great thread!
My best friend and I (wee lowly sisters, lol, making more $ than any brother that tried to date us) also made it out together!
i often see comments by ex-jws that would suggest some men still view themselves as "head of the house".
sometimes comments from women appear to support the idea as well.. how many still see things this way or have you completely got over it?.
I was over it before I even married, lol.
